having now ridden for almost 2 years at WSMTB Club – i had felt as though i should put something back into the club if possible. of course their website wasn’t the best. it was functional but just needed a serious update/redesign/brand etc.
i saw on the site there was a meeting for AGM at Glenbrook and both brent and i decided we would put our hands up and help out as much as we can. with both of us having kids riding and us the like, it was a bit of a no brainer to try and help out to some degree.
i basically put my hand up for the job of webmaster. i think the committee was really happy with me taking over the job. its a bit of a specialist kind of industry and no one really knew how to do it. darren [ex-webmaster] i think had one of his IT guys do most of it for him.
so… i redesigned the site

it is also a big branding exercise. i took a very liberal basic approach.

and simple
using the red blue and white of the logo i set to the site first of all redesigning it to a simple format. even now after about 3 months it is ok but needs major IA work. with so many “little things” like track work days etc etc etc. i need to sort the home page out better. probably a blog would be good as well.
all things aside i am really happy with the results and am looking forward to upping the profile of the club along with make it more of a community. i also want to try my best to have reports for each round/race. very similar to what i had organised for the first of the 4 hr summer enduro series
i am looking forward to the year ahead running the website.
