as per the usual / unusual world of www crossing paths are quiet often quiet amazing. after the late post of the “bobber” style of moto / push bikes tim – brand manager of masi bikes. at first [not saying i still don't] it felt like quiet an honor to have him comment on the blog but after thinking about it more, i know realise that the reason why i love the masi brand so much is because of people like him, who have their ear to the ground and understand what people are looking for in their bikes. i explained to him how impressed with the colours of the bikes i was, and also the fact they design bikes that are what people were looking for.

i am really looking forward to seeing a masi in the flesh, his description of the paintwork on the speciale fixed in shamrock green sounded awesome. aparently it has an under colour metal fleck which sounds almost identical to my

tarini - he also sent me through an image of the new SoulVille. As he described it

“It’s a stripped down version without the fenders and with a more aggressive demeanor. It’s a single speed with the same flip/flop hub used on the Fixed and Commuter. As far as “fun” bikes go… it’s pretty top tier. “

i can only agree, smart bike design, intellectually as well as visually.

Thanks again for the compliments- both in the emails and here. I sincerely appreciate it.

We do try to listen, but that’s pretty easy to do for us (especially me) because of the passion we have for bicycles. It sounds like such marketing garbage to make such pronouncements, but it’s very real to me. Cycling has over run my life for the past 26 years. Even with my accident and all the injuries I now have, I can’t wait to get healthy enough to get back on my bikes and riding again. It’s a sickness.

As for the bikes- as I said, we spend lots of time working on the design and cosmetics of the bikes. We really bust a gut on the way they look. We don’t do a lot of surveys (though I do have a few now and again on the blog) or do other forms of “market research” per se- we pick the colors based off the visceral reaction of; wow, that looks good. It’s a passion thing for us (and certainly for me).

Thank you again for everything. The honour is mine- I assure you.
