rapha takes me to a place that i dream of often throughout my a day. when work is a bit much or for that matter family stuff and the pressures of travel, parenting etc. these images remind me of what i can look forward to hopefully at some point during my weekend.

i have been shocking with riding the grind this year. i have so many to catchup on and i’m pretty pissed off with the fact i haven’t been on the M4 enough already this year.
last week i pulled the finger out, rose early, put on the longs and smashed it out for another commute. without any real thought i decided about 1/3 of the way through my timed P2P* segment to get the gas on and go for a PB. funny you can see the increase in effort almost to the pedal from the garmin data. with this turn of effort i ended up breaking my PB for the distance. i hadn’t been able to go over 40 for sometime but this morning it was an easy 40.8km avg. considering on and off ramps as the best form of brake available i was pretty happy with the performance.

Read Moreso thats it. full lead in done. with the rain forcast for this week its looking like a muddy introduction to my DW100 opening SS race. i punched out a final and short ride yesterday in the crappy weather. happy to be out, i returned home super soaked but thankfully not cold.
i am still lacking form. legs were good but this man cold/flu is still lingering so my lungs are in a bad place. could only manage a 7:02 up lappo. thats 1 second slower than the last run.

I’ve also started to time the sun valley climb as well. from the turn up the hill to the top “sun valley rd” sign at the top.
