the weather has been a shocker of late. almost 5 weeks of rain… in summer. very unusual for sydney. normally by now the fires are a serious threat but this year there hasn’t even been close to one in the Blue Mnts. all this rain is not allowing me to do much riding at all. i rode yesterday for 12km total and the first 3 was a complete downpour. i was so wet again i had to stop and ring my shirt out at the local shops. i did get to take the boys down to the regatta centre with firenza [tarini].
santa was good to me. so i do have the cash to pick up some nice bike gifts but the places i want to go shopping have sold out of what i want. i have to do a once only shop due to shipping costs.
i’ve found another couple of pretty impressive online bike stores
NOS - has some really awesome New Old stock that is just another reason i need to win lotto!
i am still bidding on the NOS presto steel valve caps. bizarre turn of events. i was outbid by one bidder then i had a second chance offer, but didn’t take it at full price - i am still hoping to get them to AUS for under $20 AUS. fingers X’d

At the bargin price of 45 aus shipped from the uk i am sure i wont b upset. I am going 2 buy those nos valve tips

so tarini is at the station. if you in the area, springwood station, check him out. i am completely blow away. i took a serious 7-10 mins of my travel to the station. there was a few alterations before depature this morning. i have locked in the original purchased front rim [quick release alloy araya 27 x 23] because i need to run the front brake for the first couple of rides. i defunct the back brake and took of the calipers. i picked up the mini bbb “back style” lock to ensure no one rips of the front quick release wheel.
tonights trip home will be a challenge. i only have the two pistol lights because tarini doesn’t have the drink holder to mount the spotties with. will be interesting.
whilst on a trip to melbourne to see a prospectus client. bardley snapped this shot for me… oh shucks. nice to see a fixie formost in the window.

tarini is now a bike. a fixed gear bike. i have some shots but i haven’t had time yet to upload them ect. the weekend was chaos with the boys kindy xmas party fri. karen worked saturday, which was the day i built up tarini. i couldn’t really go for a serious ride until sunday so i took him with me for a ride with the boys. by the afternoon, which was when i was going to take him out for a proper photo shoot the rain was back.
after all the build up etc. i have already pretty much ruined the rims anyway. the build of the bike had left the original brakes on it from the “old skool road days” after a quick lap around the block i realises that just going down the driveway with the brakes on had stripped the black anodizing off the rim. a very small ring… ffs .. oh well thats life. time to move on and keep up the skills. i haven’t done a skid yet. LOL. i am not powerful enough… or maybe the gatorskins are too “sticky”
