this weekend is the Woodford to Glenbrook Careflight race. i am pretty excited about another race. i wish i could race every second week but that just doesn’t work i would never see the fam!
so here is a video of the current state of the ride. it looks like it will be quiet a fast race. can’t wait. just need brakes for scottie. they are on their way.
so again today i rode from home to work. it was a better ride on raleigh but my butt is seriously sore.i bettered my time from last round by around 30mins so that was a good improvement.the roadies is much better for the longer distances. i still need to have the wheels correctly trued up as well as new tires. the 20’s scare me. they are so thin. it is quiet amazing the temperatue changes along the way. it was quiet cold at home, then not to bad up towards springwood and down to say blaxland but then hitting glenbrook was seriously numbingly cold. very very cold and once i hit the basin it was bloody freezing even though i had been already riding for probably around 30min and was quiet warm.coming around the bends at lapstone is scary shit. they bike is flying. i reckon around 70-80km/hr and it isn’t the smooth on the shoulder. it will take some time to get used to that kind of riding but i still want to attempt to do the ride at least every second week.i also had lost of issues sleeping before hand which didn’t help me much. i was awake ever hour or so for about 3 hours before i had to leave. just nerves before such a long ride.
it has seriously been over a year since i have done any kind of freelance. i have always used freelance as a way to buy things i would normally never be able to go near… so to speak. so i received an email on monday this week from a sound guy Rafael May who was recommended to me by tobias kazumichi grime. it is really quiet exciting. it will be a great website that i can “freely” design and then use the money for bikes.there are a couple of things i could do. after the site, i could then look at possibly approach the panther cycles to re-design their site and use the cost of that + the cash from rafael to buy a new bike… or take the upgrade road for scottie.its all a mystery. but thats kinda nice
i felt really sad today as i let hugo go. he was realistically the first fixed gear bike i every had the intentions of building up. he did do some work to the station and back - god love him. he ended up being half hugo - half tarini. ride on brother…. ride on
the de-ville
lol. this should be fun. if i win it for $10 which i am pretty sure i will. i am really going to experiment with this bike. it is my new project.
tomorrow tarini will do the city run. him and i are going up to deus to pick up a criss cross bag, god i hope they have some in stock, it takes so much out of me to make decisions and i am really easily let down if the decision is made and then it all falls through. in some way i feel a little… how you say… suckered into the whole culture of bikes/messengers but after riding to the station so many times now, i am over the issue of the blackwolf backpack being unstable as a carry bag. the weight of the items is just way to high for riding a bike and cause a “sway” effect when i pick up speed. problem is the crumpler version of the complete seed is bloody $150 and the deus is only $89. 60 bucks cheaper does it for me.
my interchangeable glasses are at the post office which means i can now ride to the city… when we get to pick them up. fat chance they will make it to home before friday so next week will be the big week for the start to the h2c [home to city].
i have also purchased 2 x disc pads for scottie. he has done 1200km on the old ones and they are shot to pieces. looking forward to him being back on the track again shortly. another purchase was some black detonators tyres [700c x 23] for either tarini or raleigh. not sure which bike will be wrapped in them. because i couldn’t make my mind up to which bike should have them black was the preferred colour
